Dafina Gashi is a PhD candidate in the Department of Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, supervised by Prof. Dr. Čarna Brković. Her dissertation focuses on global beauty practices, neoliberal subjectivity, and cosmetic surgery in post-independence Kosovo. She previously completed a Master's degree in Anthropology and Visual Studies at the University of Siena, where she conducted ethnographic research on the bodies of migrant women in Italy. Her research interests include Visual Anthropology, Gender and Sexuality, the Anthropology of the Body and Embodiment, Identity, and Body and Self.
